Good shepherd, walk beside me
through the joy and trouble of this day,
and lead me in right paths
for your name’s sake. Amen.

Good shepherd, remain with me
in the dark and stillness of this night,
and let me lie down in safety

New and Recent Prayer Requests

  • See below for 50 days of prayer and action from the Missions Ministry Team of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for daily prayer and action.
  • Monika Groppe and Pranav Patel, who will be married this Saturday in Chattanooga.
  • Larry Meza, who continues to struggle with chronic, daily pain.
  • Georgia Fullem, sister-in-law of Terry Williams, has had a recurrence of her cancer and has begun a new chemo regimen.
  • Those who are suffering from the earthquake in Nepal.
  • David Roberts, husband of Kathryn Roberts (now living in East Tennessee), who is in declining health after what now appears to have been a stroke in December.
  • Jo Mitchell, mother of Cathy Flanigan, is in an assisted living facility and in declining health.
  • Sally McNeely, mother of Blake Chappell, who has stage 3 lung cancer and has completed chemo therapy; she now is undergoing radiation treatments and is showing progress.
  • Judy Bush, Bob Bush’s sister-in-law, who has undergone surgery for breast cancer and is now receiving chemotherapy.
  • Cindy Mering, neighbor of Bob and Connie Bush, has been battling cancer for quite some time and is now at home after treatment at the Mayo Clinic.
  • Bill Connolly, brother-in-law of Margie Shannon, who is being treated for cancer of the spine and in a lot of pain.
  • Persons in our congregation going through job loss, moves, and other challenging times of transition.
  • Beatrice (Cookie) Fogle, sister of Susan Groppe, who is in poor health.
  • Billy Ingram, son of Beverly Ingram, who has had a recurrence of brain cancer, but is doing well presently.
  • Davis Gray, who is suffering from a recurrence of shingles.
  • Dixie Morgan, as she cares for husband Harold with Alzheimer's.
  • Donna Heflin, as she lives with chronic pain.

Monday
Pray for the new endorsed missionaries to the Philippines, Rev. John and Joy Park. They are currently on deputation (raising money) to be missionaries in Iloilo, Philippines.

Tuesday
Pray for the ministries of the Cumberland Presbyterian council of churches in the Philippines which consists of 4 churches and missions.

Wednesday
Pray with thanksgiving for 8 Filipinos who have been studying and preparing to serve in the ministry.

Thursday
Pray for the Cumberland Presbyterian ministries in South Korea and all the Cumberland Presbyterian Korean Missionaries and ministers serving in different countries of Asia, and in the U.S.

Friday
Pray for Cumberland Presbyterian council of churches of South Korea which consists of 4 churches.

Saturday
Praise the Lord for the East Coast Korean Presbytery in the U.S., that it is the first Korean Presbytery in the U.S.

Sunday
Pray for the 2 Cumberland Presbyterian Ministers and missionaries serving in Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) with a non-denominational missionary agency—a country close to the gospel.
