Summer Sundays

. Posted in Christian Education

In the summer, our Christian discipleship ministry has a little different look from during the first three quarters of the year. We have Summer Sundays. This ministry opportunity begins June 3rd and continues through August 19th at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.

There are three offerings:

Nursery–Age 4  with Jane David

Grades K-5  with Claire Little, Angela Rogers, Jean Ellen Sisson, and Susan Groce and our capable youth rotating leadership.

Adult Class with Jaime Groce as coordinator

The kindergarten through Grade 5 children will be dealing with the theme, Seek Peace and Pursue It. Sample topics are "Getting Along" and "Walking way from Conflict."

The adults will be using Feasting on the Word, which is a lectionary-based curriculum. It connects faith formation and worship.

Youth Ministries

. Posted in Christian Education

Our youth are an integral part of the faith community at CPCG. They are known by the people of the church; people rejoice with them in their accomplishments and love them unconditionally. In addition, they are encouraged to find ways they can serve both inside and outside the church. The church provides Sunday school, Sunday Night Happenings, and mentoring for our youth.

Adult Ministries

Christian nurture at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown is understood as a lifelong quest. Adults are accepted wherever they are on their journey of faith. In order to reach adults where they are, we provide different Sunday school classes, small groups, and the Freebirds.

Children's Ministries

. Posted in Christian Education

It's Sunday morning at 9:25 a.m. Children are bounding through the doors of the church on their way to their classrooms. They look happy and excited. This is just one glimpse into how the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown perceives its children. Children are an important part of the church. Youth and adults of the congregation know them and develop important relationships with them. These children are on a journey of faith.

The church offers ministries for and with our children through:

  • Sunday school
  • Music
  • Nursery
  • VBS (Vacation Bible School)
